This morning as I was organizing my thoughts and preparing the message I felt prompted to pray the following prayer over our church family:
Heavenly Father,
If we are sleepy, wake us up.
If we are wandering, pursue us.
If we are distant, draw us near.
If we are lofty, cut us down.
If we are low, lift us up.
If we reflect the culture, conform us to Christ.
If we are fractured, make us whole.
If we are fractious, make us one.
If we are arrogant, make us helpless.
If we are satisfied, make us desperate.
If we are at peace with sin, make us warriors.
If we are apathetic, make us hungry.
If we are dutiful, make us joyous.
If we are silent…
Why?
…Give us a voice.
If we are cowards, make us brave.
If we are lazy, give us new passions.
Lead us by our desires toward a more active love.
If we are cold, set us on fire,
And if we will not join you in what you are doing,
For the glory of Your Name and the sake of the lost,
Raise up another church.
In our hearts, Lord, be glorified today.
