If you read through the gospel accounts of Jesus’ earthly ministry you will be surprised at how often reference is made to Jesus sharing meals with people. It’s one of those things that you don’t notice until you’re looking for it and then it’s everywhere. Something special happens when we share a meal together, and, of course, Jesus knew that.
And this Sunday, communion Sunday, is about a family sharing a meal together. And what will be on the menu? What hearty, satisfying, and excellent thing will we take in and enjoy together? Well…Jesus…of course. As Jesus Himself said in John 6, “Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.”
Join us as we study John 12:9-26 together and celebrate through the Lord’s Supper; our being joined together with Jesus into one indissoluble body.
